HMM-2009, NIST, Gaithersburg, MD

HMM-2009 has obtained a grant from the National Science Foundation to support student travel expenses associated with attendance at HMM-2009. Due to the pressing deadline for HMM-2009 registration, we are asking interested students to apply now.

Eligible students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and must be students at a U.S. university.

To apply for travel support, please submit an estimate of your travel expenses, including registration, required to be able to attend the symposium. Please also submit a letter of support from your advisor. Send both documents to hmm2009announce@gmail.com by April 27, 2009.

Applicants will be notified by e-mail by April 29, 2009, what portion of their travel expenses will be reimbursed, if any. We expect to support a substantial fraction of eligible student expenses.

Recipients of support will be required to submit a travel expense report, complete with receipts, after the symposium. Reimbursement funds will then be distributed.

Although the conference program is complete, we expect to have surplus poster space if students would like to use it to report informally on their work in progress.
