New: Program schedule published. New: Student travel support available. The 7th International Symposium on Hysteresis Modeling and Micromagnetics (HMM-2009) will be held May 11-14, 2009 in Gaithersburg, MD, USA, within the Washington DC Metro area. The symposium begins with an opening reception Monday, May 11, 6-8pm at the Holiday Inn Gaithersburg. Three days of technical sessions follow in the Green Auditorium and Hall of Flags at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The Symposium is intended to be a forum for presentation and discussion of the most recent advancements in the fields of hysteresis modeling and computational micromagnetics. Continuing with the tradition of previous HMM symposia, HMM-2009 has a strong interdisciplinary emphasis. Our aim is to bring together scientists with a wide range of backgrounds (physicists, mathematicians, material scientists, engineers, etc) to exchange ideas, methods and results. Although special emphasis will be made on magnetic hysteresis, there will be sessions in the program focused on universal aspects of hysteresis, independent of its origin. The three-day scientific program of this symposium will consist of invited and contributed talks and posters, organized in different thematic sessions.
